Hi, I’m Igor Ralic. I am a software developer, blogger, speaker and a cook. Not a chef (yet). I enjoy developing mobile apps, especially the ones on the Microsoft platform – Windows Phone and Windows 8. I started programming back in elementary school in Logo and Basic. Did some Pascal later on, too, after which I completely switched to C-like languages, so today I like to do everything in C#. Oh and unlike my friends, I like XAML, too. I did a few small apps in WPF in Silverlight, but when Windows Phone was announced, I got very excited and switched completely to developing cool apps for Windows Phone. I was one of the first early adopters of the Windows Phone and Windows 8 platforms in Croatia. Published/worked on more than ten apps for those platforms! I am also a regular speaker at some of the major Microsoft conferences in the region - can you guess what my sessions are about? :)
I am almost done with formal education which will get me master’s degree in computer engineering. I hope to be working on development, design and architecture of interesting and challenging mobile apps in the near future. Hopefully it will be on Microsoft platform, but I’m flexible – willing to learn.
Searching for a dream job – the one in which I would get to: work in a small agile team so I can learn a lot but still be productive from day 2, to write code that’s very quickly a part of a shipping product (results motivate me), to manage a healthy work/life balance so I can be happy (I work better when I’m happy), located anywhere on Earth. Moon and Mars are also fine, but only if you offer relocation. :)
